This lesson focuses on the skill of evaluating evidence. Students determine whether or not a series of sources would provide reliable information on the Black Death in Florence, Italy, and then evaluate a first-hand account of the plague. This lesson includes an assessment featuring a passage from the Decameron that can be used independently or along with the lesson plan.
