New to Reading Like a Historian lessons? Join us for the Intro to Reading Like a Historian institute Wednesday evenings February 1-15 to learn strategies for inquiry-based history instruction using our free document-based lessons.
Modeling Historical Thinking

In the first session, we'll explore teaching students historical thinking skills through the instructional strategy of cognitive modeling.
Supporting Discussion

We'll focus on how to facilitate historical discussions using a Structured Academic Controversy in the second session.
Scaffolding Historical Documents

On the final day, we'll provide strategies for scaffolding historical documents to make them accessible to a range of readers.
