This assessment gauges whether students can identify the historical event depicted in an iconic photograph and evaluate its historical significance. Successful students will draw on their knowledge of the past to identify Bob Jackson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph of Jack Ruby shooting Lee Harvey Oswald, who was in police custody in Dallas as the primary suspect for the assassination of President Kennedy and then explain how the event was historically significant.
